Skippers Trail

Skippers CanyonGuided Walk / 4x4 Tour

Be picked up from your accommodation or meet your guide at our base on Shotover Street.

Travel up the saddle of the historical Skippers Canyon in our comfortable four wheel drive vehicle.

Your two hour walk starts at the saddle and winds its way down into the canyon along the original gold miners trail, once the only access to the canyon for the 10,000 gold miners who called it home.

Your guide will entertain you with interesting and historical tales as you take in the scenery, plant life and stone remains.

From the Long Gully Hotel ruins you will travel by 4WD further into the canyon to the turnaround point of the tour, the historical school house that once educated the miners' children.

Your guide will serve a delicious lunch and refreshments at the school house, before heading back out of the canyon either by 4WD or helicopter.

Cecil Peak Station

Guided Heli WalkGuided Walk / Heli ride

Be picked up from your accommodation or meet your guide at our base on Shotover Street.

We will then make our way to the heli pad to prepare for our helicopter flight over Lake Wakatipu, to the starting point of the walk at the saddle between Cecil Peak and Walter Peak.

The two hour walk gently winds its way down the valley between the two peaks, as you make your way to the Walter Peak High Country Farm.

During the walk your knowledgeable guide will entertain you with interesting facts about the area, and the native fauna and flora, whilst you take in the amazing mountainous views surrounding you.

Upon arriving at Walter Peak High Country Farm, you will be treated to a delicious BBQ lunch on the terrance, whilst taking in the full splendor of Lake Wakatipu.

After lunch you can decide whether you would like to join the High Country Farm Tour.

Finish the day off by cruising across Lake Wakatipu back to Queenstown, on board the vintage TSS Earnslaw.
