FAQ
How old do I have to be?
Off Road Adventures has a minimum age of 7 years old to ride the quads, this is also subject to guides discretion making sure the client is in control of the bike before departure. Expert riders only on 2 wheelers.
What if it's raining?
Weather does not effect the departure of our quad tours as the bikes perform equally well in either wet or dry conditions. 2 wheel riders will need a greater level of skill if wet. We provide all wet weather gear so you stay clean & dry.
Do I need a license to go on a bike tour?
Not on our quad or bike tours that use our high-country station, i.e; Family, Beginner, Adventure or Riders tour. We provide transport to the farm, or customers can follow in their own vehicles. If you want to partake in a longer tour, i.e: a few days we will be using public roads therefore a license is essential.
Is it difficult?
The quad bikes are easy to learn and ride, full tuition and instructions are given. The guide is constantly watching the riders progress during the tour, evaluating skills and advising where necessary. The guide will tailor the tour to the riders capabilities.
Can I double a friend or child?
No, but your guide will if necessary.
What do I need to bring?
You need to wear long pants and suitable for the time of year. Wet weather gear is provided in case of rain. Make sure you bring your camera.
Do we get to the snow in winter?
Only if you have the time and skill level.
Can I take photos?
Yes, we recommend you do, your guide can carry the camera during your tour.
