Starry EyedStarry Eyed 2007
The 10th Anniversary

12th June - 17th June 2007 at The Memorial Hall

Queenstown's most popular show is back and proud to announce this year is the 10th Anniversary.

STARRY EYED, now in its 10th year as Queenstown's Most Popular Event have decided to invite back all the previous year's winners in new roles for the audience to see the best at their best.

Names like Anita Haira, Shawn Vining, Charlotte Graff, Sarah Thomas, Tiffany Mitchell, Katy Anderson, Louise O'Neill, and Tom Maxwell are names that Queenstowner’s have come to know and equate with high level entertainment.  These are our contestants this year and they are competing with each other to win the hearts of the audience.

The Starry team are thrilled to be able to entice them back from their now "everyday lives" in Dunedin, Australia and even Northern Ireland, in order to give Queenstowner’s the chance to experience a monumental event in Queenstown - one not to be missed.

"As we have seen these fine performers once before they have been given a new challenge - to come up with another star, this means new songs, new backing tracks, new costumes and new nerves for everyone,  so the challenge is definitely on." says producer Nigel Hirst.

With only 8 of the past 9 years returning, as well as an empty space for 2007's challenger,  a window of opportunity has opened up for past year veterans of the show, affectionately dubbed "The Lucky Losers".   Auditions will be held on 25th March, after which the chosen 2 will be announced.

"This will be our most fun year to date" gurgles Director Margaret O'Hanlon, "Not only do the performers know what to do, but their expectations of what we can do to support them in their act is much higher than previous years"

In addition to the stellar line-up of Starry Eyed talent, this year’s show will provide the audience with a retrospective of past years, alot of surprise guests from past years, and oh yes, a surprise celebrity guest.  "Never under estimate what we've got up our sleeves!"  Margaret warns.

"The build up to this show is always awesome and totally immense, but this year is so special we have lots of extra work to do. Starry Eyed is going to be extra special with a fantastic set, hosts and acts. It's amazing, as it seems like only yesterday we were planning last years show," says Ali Thompson Barrs.

Tickets go on sale 21st of May.
