The festival is a ten day celebration of winter in the mountains and the Southern Hemisphere's ultimate winter party. The festival has been a huge success for 29 years and attracts visitors from all over New Zealand, Australia, the USA, Japan and around the globe.

The Festival runs in the week immediately prior to the New Zealand school holidays - in 2006 from Friday June 23rd to Sunday July 2nd 2006.
There are three major venues - Coronet Peak, Earnslaw Park and Queenstown Bay. All mountain events are at Coronet Peak right in front of the sun deck. You'll generally find all downtown events around Earnslaw Park or lakeside.
